 It is hard for many professionals to know where to steer their lives and careers. It is like being on a big motorcycle with a full tank of gas and no idea where to take it.
The Student
Demographic Report was created as a way for dental students and recent
graduates to get an overview of a community at a significantly reduced fee.
There are three big differences between the Student Demographic Report and the
Community Overview Report:
- Less Data – This Report is about 1/3 shorter.
- No Original Analysis – Rather than a customized analysis by a demographer, the Report has only broad guidelines to interpret the data.
- No Hard Copy – This Report is ONLY available via the Internet. A
PDF copy of the Report is attached to an E-mail to the Purchaser. It is the
responsibility of the Purchaser to provide an e-mail address that can accept
large attachments. Acrobat Reader is most often used to open PDF documents.
Still, it is a cutting-edge tool to evaluate a community, a site, or a region for a dental practice.
Just like the Community Overview Report, it is divided into three parts:
- Competition
- Demographics
- Maps
The Report is written so dental professionals can understand the implications of the data that is revealed from THEIR perspective.
The Area-of-Study normally consists of up to 14
Zip Codes. For specialists, this may include slightly more. If desired, we can
provide a depiction of the Effective Practice Area if the client will fax to us
the number of patients per Zip Code.
Competition
The ratio of dentist-to-population is examined. For dental specialists, this
includes an analysis of the referral base relative to the area of study or
practice site. Another map is included that shows the distribution of dentists
around the Area of Study.
Our consideration of competition takes into
account both individual dentists and dental practices. We draw upon several
databases to determine the number of dentists including Component/Constituent
Dental Society, Donnelly Databases, Select Data, and yellow page directories.
Demographics
The key demographic statistics are presented in color graph and chart formats.
The information includes a prose analysis of why a particular bit of data might
be important for a dental practice in a given site. The data includes:

- Projected Population
- Household Size
- Race and Ethnic Breakout (Including Hispanic Breakout)
- Median Age
- Age Breakout
- Median Income
- Income by Percentage
(Breakout)
- Households
- Age by Percentage
- Per Capita Income
- Median and Average Household Income
- Competition Ratio
Maps Included
- Geographic Overview (Including streets, landmarks, and major transportation arteries.)
- Zip Code Boundaries
- Competition Location (Including site and competing practices.)

We include 8 charts including Population, Growth, Households, Per Capita Income, Median Income, Income Breakout Age, Ethnicity and Dentist-to-Population Ratio.

The Student Demographic Report costs $225.00 for up to 14 Zip Codes. If the Client wants a hard copy, there is a $6.00 additional charge.
